19 3rd ESO students from our school will take part in a student exchange with St. Bede's School in Surrey, London. The student exchange will last from 3rd-12th February 2010.

STUDENTS’ PROJECTS ON ANGLO-SAXONS

ANGLO-SAXONS

GROUP 1: Who were they?

• Where were they from?

• Why did they go to England?

• What did they bring with them?

• Where did the newcomers settle?

TASK: Make a poster.

1. Draw a map showing the journey they made from their countries to England.
   

2. Draw a map of England and colour the places where they settled down.
   

3. Draw the pictures of the things they brought with them.

4. Include all the information learned from the questions.

GROUP 2: Anglo-Saxon beliefs

• Did they believe in any gods?

• What did men’s graves include?

• What were the Monasteries?

• What did the monks do?

• Why is Bede famous?

TASK: Make a poster.

1. Find pictures of the main god Woden, and explain a little about it.
   

2. Draw a man’s grave and explain what we can see.
   

3. Draw a monk working.

4. Include all the information learned from the questions.

GROUP 3: Anglo-Saxon family life

• Describe an Anglo-Saxon house

• What did men wear?

• What did women wear?

• What jobs did people do?

TASK: Make a poster.

1. Draw a picture of an Anglo-Saxon house.
   

2. Draw a man and a woman showing their clothing.
   

3. Draw a picture where we can see some of their jobs.

• What did Anglo-Saxon girls learn to do?

• What happened when the husband died. Who took care of his wife?
